A fan finds your page, sees you're online and taps video. From the moment you are both connected, they pay your per-minute video price in steps of 15 seconds. When either of you hangs up, the meter stops. Ringing is free, so a missed call costs nobody anything. That's the whole model, and it's why it works for short calls as well as long ones. A three-minute hello costs three minutes; a 40-minute session costs 40. - Video is your top format: priced at or above voice, and voice at or above chat. - You can take calls as they come in, or let regulars book a session inside your working hours, paid up front. - Weekly sessions repeat at the same time every week. We make hello.fan, so read this as our own pick. For a deeper look at pricing, safety and the other kinds of tools you could use instead, see [the best platform for paid video calls](https://thebestplatform.com/best/paid-video-calls/). ## How should you price video calls? Treat video as your premium time, since it asks the most of you: camera, light and full attention. One simple method is to choose what an hour on camera should bring in from the fan, then divide by 60. If an hour should be $90, that's $1.50 a minute, or 150 credits. Then set the ladder underneath it: voice at or below video, chat at or below voice. Chat can even be free, so a fan who isn't ready for a camera call still has an easy first step. - **Quick-call pricing**: a lower rate suits short questions, because billing is per started 15 seconds. - **Specialist pricing**: experts can price toward the top of the range, up to 5,000 credits, or $50, a minute. - **Room to grow**: revisit your price as you learn what your calls are worth to the people who come back. Remember your share comes out of the fan's price. At 150 credits a minute, you keep 90 cents a minute at 60%, or $1.05 with a linked store.fan shop on a paid plan. ## What do you need to get paid for video calls? Less than you might think. A phone with a front camera, a quiet spot with daylight or a soft lamp, and a reliable connection cover most of it. hello.fan adds 21 free camera filters, so you don't need extra apps for a little polish. If some of your callers speak other languages, live translated subtitles in 30 languages run on calls, which widens who you can talk to. - **Hours**: set working hours and hello.fan switches you online and offline automatically. - **Alerts**: fans who heart you get an alert when you come online. - **Ringing**: the Android app rings like a phone call; the iOS app is on its way. You also need to be 18 or older. hello.fan is 18+ only, with no adult content, ever. Before your first payout you'll do a quick ID check, and then earnings go to your bank through Stripe once your ready balance reaches $100. ## Is it safe to video chat with people you haven't met? Privacy is built into the call itself. Nothing is recorded, your phone number stays private, and block and report are in every call. If someone crosses a line, you can end the call, then block and report them. Your schedule protects you too. You're only reachable for calls inside the hours you choose. Outside them, fans can send an Icebreaker, a one-line hello for 10 credits, or a Super Hello, a gift with a private note. Each gets one reply from you, so offline messages stay short. A few habits help on any camera call: - Keep your address, workplace and other personal details out of frame. - Say on your page what you talk about, so callers know what to expect. - End any call that turns into something you didn't sign up for. Example: 10 video calls of 25 minutes at 200 credits a minute = 50,000 credits = $500 paid by fans. You keep $300 at 60%, or $350 at 70% with a linked store.fan shop on a paid plan. Your result depends on your price and the calls you take. ## How to start - **Create your page.** Sign up as a creator on hello.fan and add a clear photo and what people can talk to you about. - **Price your video minutes.** Set a per-minute video price, then voice and chat at or below it. - **Go online.** Set working hours, share your link, and take video calls while fans can see you're online. ## Frequently asked questions ### How much can I charge to video chat?
