Someone real is online. ## How much does it cost to video chat with a creator? Every creator sets their own price per minute — anywhere from 50 to 5,000 credits, where 100 credits = $1. A creator charging 120 credits a minute for voice costs $1.20 a minute; a five-minute voice call is $6. You see the price before you call, and you pay per started 15 seconds only while you are both connected. ## Do I need an app? No. hello.fan works in Chrome, Safari or Edge on your phone or computer — see [video chat without an app](https://thebestplatform.com/video-chat/no-download/). On Android you can also install the [hello.fan app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hellofan.app&referrer=utm_source%3Dthebestplatform.com%26utm_medium%3Dreferral%26utm_campaign%3Dhello-fan-fans%26utm_content%3Dbody), which rings like a phone call; the iOS app is on its way. ## What if they're offline? - **Heart them** and you'll get an alert when they come online. - **Book a time** inside their working hours — paid up front — or a weekly session at the same time every week. - **Send an Icebreaker**: a one-line hello for 10 credits. They can reply once. - **Send a Super Hello**: a gift with a private note, also with one reply. ## Is it private? Calls are never recorded, your phone number is never shown, and you can block or report from inside every call. hello.fan is 18+ only, with no adult content, and it never matches you with random strangers — [you choose who you call](https://thebestplatform.com/video-chat/random/). ### Before you call - Free to join - +20% on your first top-up - Price shown before you call - Ringing is free - Pay per 15 s, only while connected [Start a video chat](https://hello.fan/creators?online=1&utm_source=thebestplatform.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=hello-fan-fans&utm_content=body) ### Fan guides - [Live video chat with someone you actually chose](https://thebestplatform.com/video-chat/) - [Mobile video chat, one to one, from your phone](https://thebestplatform.com/video-chat/mobile/) - [One on one video chat that's really one on one](https://thebestplatform.com/video-chat/one-on-one/) - [Free video chat: what's actually free, and what isn't](https://thebestplatform.com/video-chat/free/) - [The best platform to talk to creators](https://thebestplatform.com/best/talk-to-creators/) - [The best platform for language practice with real people](https://thebestplatform.com/best/language-practice/) ## Fan questions ### How do I video chat with a creator on hello.fan? Sign up free at hello.fan, open the list of people [online now](https://hello.fan/creators?online=1&utm_source=thebestplatform.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=hello-fan-fans&utm_content=body), check their per-minute price and tap video, voice or chat. Ringing is free; you pay only while you are both connected, in 15-second steps. ### Do I need to download an app? No. hello.fan works in your browser — Chrome, Safari or Edge — on a phone or a computer, with no download. On Android you can also install the app, which rings like a phone call; the iOS app is on its way. ### How much does a video call cost? Each creator sets their own price per minute: 50 to 5,000 credits a minute, where 100 credits = $1. You see the price before you call, and the clock only runs while you are both connected. New members get +20% credits on their first top-up (a launch offer). ### Is it random video chat? No. You see who is online, what they talk about, their languages and prices — and you choose whom to call. Everyone is 18+, nothing is recorded, and every call has block and report. [Why that beats random chat](https://thebestplatform.com/video-chat/random/). ### What if the creator speaks another language? Turn on live translated subtitles — 30 languages on calls — and the chat translates itself. You read what they say in your language while they read you in theirs.
