Instagram is a social app for photos, videos and messages. In Direct messages you can start an audio or video call one-on-one or with a small group, and Instagram says anyone whose message you've accepted can call you. On a computer, calls also work from instagram.com in the browser. It's an easy way to talk with people you already message, but there's no way to charge for a call, so a creator who takes fan calls isn't paid for that time. Only if they let you. Instagram's own pages say anyone you've accepted a message from can start an audio or video call with you, so a creator decides who reaches them by accepting message requests. A busy creator may leave most requests unread, and there's little reason for them to take free calls from people they don't know. **hello.fan** flips that. Creators who want fan calls open a page, set prices and hours, and fans can call them when they're online, with no request to accept and no number to share. The fan sees the creator's topics, languages and prices for video, voice and chat before tapping call. - Heart a creator to get an alert when they come online. - Send an Icebreaker, a one-line hello for 10 credits with one reply, when they're offline. - Every call has block and report, and nothing is recorded. Creators can put their hello.fan link in their Instagram bio, so followers know where to call. Instagram calls are a messaging feature, so a creator who spends an evening on calls with fans earns nothing from the calls themselves. On hello.fan, every connected minute is paid. The creator sets a per-minute price from 50 to 5,000 credits (100 credits = $1), and the fan pays per started 15 seconds, only while both people are connected. The creator keeps up to 70% of what the fan pays, and payouts go to their bank through Stripe from $100, after a quick ID check. **Example:** a 10-minute video call at 300 credits a minute is 3,000 credits, or $30 paid by the fan. The creator keeps $18 at 60%, or $21 at 70% with a linked store.fan shop on a paid plan. Instagram is the easy choice for free calls with friends and mutuals. If you're a creator getting more DM call requests than you can take for free, or a fan who wants real one-to-one time with someone you follow, hello.fan gives that time a fair per-minute price. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can I make Instagram video calls on a computer? Yes. Instagram describes starting audio and video calls from Messages on the web: open a chat and click the call or video button. hello.fan also works in any browser, on a phone or a computer, with no download. ### Is hello.fan a social network like Instagram?
